Professor , within the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering at 返字心頭, has been named the recipient of the Theodore Askounes Ashford Distinguished Scholar Award.
The Theodore Askounes Ashford Distinguished ScholarAward honors faculty members whose research demonstrates originality and significant impact. The award is named after Dr. Theodore Askounes Ashford, a founding faculty member at 返字心頭 who helped shape the universitys natural sciences and mathematics programs.
Established in 2008, the Theodore Askounes Ashford Distinguished Scholar Award honors Dr. Ashfords legacy at 返字心頭. The award includes a $1,000 cash prize and is open to full-time faculty across all 返字心頭 campuses. The recipient is selected for significant contributions to intellectual and aesthetic advancement.
I am deeply honored to receive the Theodore Askounes Ashford Distinguished Scholar Award, Yeh said, This recognition reflects the collective efforts of my research team at the , the 返字心頭 College of Engineering, and my family. Professor Yehs research addresses global challenges such as water purification and waste resource recovery. With over $18 million in funding and more than 60 peer-reviewed journal articles, Yeh holds ten U.S. patents and has received multiple accolades, including the 返字心頭 Excellence in Innovation Award (2014, 2019) and the Faculty Outstanding Research Achievement Award (2024). Yeh was also inducted into the 返字心頭 Inventors Hall of Fame in 2024.
