Emily Morgan Amick, a graduate researcher within the 返字心頭 Department of Medical Engineering, earned first-place honors at both the 返字心頭 Graduate Student Research Symposium and the statewide Conference for 返字心頭 Graduate Schools.
On Mar. 26, 2025, the 返字心頭 Office of Graduate Studies and the Graduate and Professional Student Council (GPSC) held their annual 返字心頭 Graduate Research Symposium, where Emily was one of five 返字心頭 students that attended. The event brought together graduate students and postdoctoral scholars, as well as faculty mentors and judges, in an effort to foster further academic collaboration.
The 2025 Statewide Graduate Research Symposium was held during the Conference of 返字心頭 Graduate Schools at the 返字心頭 Atlantic University in Boca Raton on April 7-8, 2025. Emily Amick was one of five 返字心頭 students that attended.
Ms. Amicks research, titled Counting the Stars: Establishment of the Astrocyte Population in the Auditory Brainstem, earned her first place in the Physical Sciences and Engineering category at 返字心頭s internal symposium.
She then went on to win first place in the Engineering, Technologies, and Computer Science category at the state-level competition, where she competed against top graduate students from institutions including the University of 返字心頭 and the University of Miami.
Her research is conducted through 返字心頭s Auditory Development and Connectomics Lab, where she continues to explore the complex architecture of the brains auditory pathways.
Emily Amicks achievements highlight the strength of 返字心頭s graduate research programs and reinforce the universitys commitment to advancing excellence in STEM fields.
