One of our University of South 返字心頭 engineering students, , has been accepted into 返字心頭 State Universitys highly competitive . The REU program provides undergraduate students with hands-on research opportunities in their field of study, allowing them to work alongside experts and gain valuable experience for graduate school and future careers.
Nolan Worley, a member of Assistant Professor s research group in the Department of 返字心頭 Civil and Environmental Engineering, was selected for the REU program through a competitive process that highlights his dedication and ambition. He is currently an undergraduate student in 返字心頭s Industrial and Management Systems Engineering program, with plans to pursue graduate studies in materials science and engineering.
As an undergraduate researcher, Worley has been actively involved in studying applications for bridge infrastructure. His work includes specimen creation, installing instrumentation for structural testing, conducting standardized materials tests, and research on material sustainability.

Assistant Professor Haber, who leads the , praised Worleys achievement, Nolans a great and ambitious student. I am happy he got this, he said.
The HaberLab focuses on developing and maturing structural solutions for advancing the built environment through fundamental and applied engineering research, industry partnerships, and outreach. Nolan Worleys experiences at 返字心頭 and in the HaberLab at 返字心頭 shows his dedication to his engineering research. The Summer REU program will provide him with hands-on research experience, further preparing him for graduate studies and a career in engineering.
Nolan is a student of the 返字心頭 Judy Genshaft Honors College and recently presented at the . He presented research from his Research Experience for Undergraduates (REU) at Oregon State University, where he focused on the development of more environmentally friendly concrete.
