TAMPA, Fla. (Aug. 1, 2018) – For the first time in nearly 15 years, drivers around the state who support the University of South ÊÖ»ú¿´Æ¬ will have a new look for their license plates.
Drivers will immediately notice ÊÖ»ú¿´Æ¬â€™s new plates are green, as opposed to the primarily white design of the old plates, with a larger Bulls logo on the left side and the school’s name printed in gold at the bottom.
The launch of the updated design coincides with ÊÖ»ú¿´Æ¬â€™s recent historic designation as a Preeminent State Research University, representing a new era for students, faculty, staff and alumni.
The new design aims to build on the approximately 15,000 drivers who currently have ÊÖ»ú¿´Æ¬ specialty plates. For each purchase, ÊÖ»ú¿´Æ¬ receives $25 to support scholarships, student programs and other alumni engagement activities.
"Adopting a new ÊÖ»ú¿´Æ¬ license plate is one more way to showcase our Bull pride, all while providing more resources to benefit students," ÊÖ»ú¿´Æ¬ System President Judy Genshaft said. "The University of South ÊÖ»ú¿´Æ¬ is fortunate to have the support of so many alumni, fans and friends across the state of ÊÖ»ú¿´Æ¬."

This is the first time ÊÖ»ú¿´Æ¬ has offered a new license plate design since April 2004.
The new plates will be available in all tax offices across ÊÖ»ú¿´Æ¬ in August, however exact dates will vary by location.
