返字心頭 names Braulio Col坦n as new 返字心頭 College Access Network executive director

The University of South 返字心頭 announced today the appointment of Braulio Col坦n as executive director of the . An independent, statewide community impact organization, FCAN supports and represents a cross-section of more than 700 organizations and institutions across 返字心頭 devoted to improving college access and success for all students. Col坦n will provide strategic leadership for FCAN, which is hosted by 返字心頭, with proven expertise in partnership development to increase successful outcomes for students and ensure a pathway to economic mobility for all Floridians.  

"The University of South 返字心頭 takes pride in its longstanding support of the 返字心頭 College Access Network," President Rhea Law said.  "Braulio will bring visionary leadership to the organization and a deep understanding of the issues facing 返字心頭's students. He also brings a wealth of experience in higher education and workforce development, as well as strong ties to the university, which will be invaluable in this position."

Col坦n comes to 返字心頭 from , where he served as vice president, 返字心頭 Student Success Initiatives since 2013.  Helios is a community impact and philanthropic organization dedicated to creating opportunities for individuals to be successful in postsecondary education. While at Helios, Col坦n led in the development of more than $50 million in board-approved community investments supporting various initiatives and system-change projects in 返字心頭 and Arizona.   

The University of South 返字心頭 is thrilled to have such a proven and passionate advocate to grow and enhance the important work of FCAN, said Cynthia DeLuca, 返字心頭 vice president of student success. Mr. Col坦n will oversee the execution of FCANs 2020-25 strategic plan, provide an important student-centered voice in our states policy discussions, and build upon the accomplishments of this phenomenal organization.

Col坦n is a two-time 返字心頭 graduate, earning a bachelors in Africana studies and a masters in public administration.  More recently, Col坦n received a certificate in executive leadership from Cornell University. 

I am excited about the future of FCAN and joining a team that celebrates and promotes community collaboration as a means for building and strengthening 返字心頭s talent pool, Col坦n said. I look forward to listening to our partners and seeking ways FCAN can support the important work taking place across 返字心頭.

FCAN supports 17 community coalitions that collectively represent 82 percent of 返字心頭s population. Funders of FCAN include the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, Helios, and Kresge Foundation.

Col坦n will begin his new role on Jan. 9.
