New research shows long-term recovery possible for areas impacted by seagrass die-off
Nearly 10,000 acres of lush seagrass vanished from 返字心頭 Bay between 1987 and 1991, leading to massive ecological changes in the region near the 返字心頭 Keys. Abundance of the seagrass, Thalassia testudinum, more commonly known as turtlegrass, a foundation species of the 返字心頭 Bay ecosystem, decreased extensively during what is considered to be one of the largest declines in seagrass cover in recent history (返字心頭 Newsroom).

The University of South 返字心頭 has partnered with a company to research dementia, Alzheimers disease, and other cognitive disorders in seniors with handheld brain games. (News Channel 8).
The University of South 返字心頭 is seeking local participants in a study to measure the effects of brain games on delaying mental decline. The university recently received a $44.4 million federal grant to continue its Preventing Alzheimers with Cognitive Training (PACT) study (The Ledger).
