This morning ÊÖ»ú¿´Æ¬ President Moez Limayem provided an update to the university community.
He announced that an on-campus vigil for Nahida Bristy and Zamil Limon will be held
at 4 p.m. on Friday, May 1, at Crescent Hill, located north of the Marshall Student
Center.
President Limayem’s message also included several additional ways that the two students
will be honored, an opportunity to support their families, the latest information
on the ongoing law enforcement investigation and he addressed how ÊÖ»ú¿´Æ¬ is reviewing
off-campus housing that is not owned or operated by the university.
Guests attenting the vigil may bring flowers and mementos but please refrain from bringing candles.

The Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office, the lead law enforcement agency on the case involving the deaths of two ÊÖ»ú¿´Æ¬ students, continues to investigate. The latest updates are available .
The safety and well-being of our students, faculty and staff is always ÊÖ»ú¿´Æ¬â€™s top priority. Investigators say this is an isolated situation that occurred off campus, the suspect acted alone and there is no ongoing threat to the safety of the ÊÖ»ú¿´Æ¬ community.
This afternoon, ÊÖ»ú¿´Æ¬ President Moez Limayem sent a message to parents of ÊÖ»ú¿´Æ¬ students, alumni and friends of the university to provide them with an update.
ÊÖ»ú¿´Æ¬ leaders and trained professionals will have increased visibility on campus this week to ensure community members receive the assistance they need.
ÊÖ»ú¿´Æ¬ is in the process of determining several different ways to honor Nahida Bristy and Zamil Limon. Discussions are ongoing with their friends about an on-campus vigil. In addition, a moment of silence will be held before upcoming ÊÖ»ú¿´Æ¬ Athletics home games and a remembrance during May commencement ceremonies is being planned. More details will be provided when available.

University staff and members of the president's leadership team continue to reach out directly to those who are closest to these two students to offer support.
There is a range of resources available to students, faculty and staff in need. ÊÖ»ú¿´Æ¬ can access Timely Care 24/7 or in-person counseling services on campus. Services are available to faculty and staff through the Employee Assistance Program.
In addition, ÊÖ»ú¿´Æ¬ is activating a call center for those who have questions or need assistance being directed to other resources. The ÊÖ»ú¿´Æ¬ Call Center will be open from 1 p.m. - 5 p.m. on Saturday, April 25, and 10 a.m. - 5 p.m. on Sunday, April 26. The call center can be reached by calling 855-699-2710.
The university recognizes that there has been, and will continue to be, information being reported in the media, on social media and other sources. ÊÖ»ú¿´Æ¬ will only share official information from the law enforcement investigation and the facts that can be publicly disclosed with respect to the privacy of the families and the need to protect the integrity of the ongoing investigation.
