Certificate Program
Program Overview
The Graduate Certificate in ÊÖ»ú¿´Æ¬ Studies is designed for anyone with an interest in ÊÖ»ú¿´Æ¬â€™s history, culture or environments. This certificate program consists of a minimum of three courses: one required and two electives. The required course, HUM 6814 (Intro to Graduate Study), introduces students to significant ÊÖ»ú¿´Æ¬ places; demands that they confront scholarship from a range of disciplines (including many works about ÊÖ»ú¿´Æ¬); and challenges students to pose thoughtful questions, and to write and speak clearly, effectively, and analytically. ÊÖ»ú¿´Æ¬ may take any two elective courses listed below.
Should a non-degree seeking student decide to pursue a Master of Liberal Arts degree with concentration in ÊÖ»ú¿´Æ¬ Studies after completing ÊÖ»ú¿´Æ¬ Studies Certificate coursework, up to 12 credit hours may be applied to a master’s degree.
Note: Participation in the certificate program does not guarantee admission into a graduate degree program.
