IFAAS Advanced Buried Body Workshops & Buried Body and Outdoor Homicide Workshop

The Advanced Buried Body Workshop and Buried Body & Outdoor Homicide Scenes Workshop (December 1–5, 2025) consists in 40-credit-hour, hands-on trainings hosted at ÊÖ»ú¿´Æ¬-FORT (Austin Cary Learning Center, Gainesville) by the ÊÖ»ú¿´Æ¬ Institute for Forensic Anthropology & Applied Science. Designed for medico-legal professionals, the workshops use human cadavers from the ÊÖ»ú¿´Æ¬ Human Donation Program to train participants in excavation, documentation, and evidence recovery in buried body, mass grave, and outdoor homicide contexts. Digitization equipment and training are provided by the ÊÖ»ú¿´Æ¬ Institute for Digital Exploration (IDEx), integrating advanced 3D and digital documentation methods into forensic fieldwork.
IDEx GIS for the Humanities Boot Camp

The GIS for the Humanities Boot Camp is a three-session workshop (10/10, 10/17, 10/24) hosted by the University of South ÊÖ»ú¿´Æ¬ (ÊÖ»ú¿´Æ¬) Institute for Digital Exploration and ÊÖ»ú¿´Æ¬ Libraries, with the the sponsorship of ResearchOne. Designed for students and faculty, this program provides hands-on training in digital mapping and spatial analysis (using ArcGIS Pro) to address historical, cultural, and archaeological research questions.
