Bachelor of Fine Arts in Studio Art

There are two Bachelor of Fine Arts (BFA) in Studio Art degrees offered by ÊÖ»ú¿´Æ¬â€™s School of Art & Art History: a generalized BFA in Studio Art, and a BFA in Studio Art with Concentration in Animation & Digital Modeling. Both are 120-credit degrees that serve as the initial professional degree in the field.

ÊÖ»ú¿´Æ¬ focus on developing their art-making skills, and conceptual and critical thinking, while learning to form an understanding of the aesthetic and ideological aspects of art and its relationship to life. Also, studio studies and experiences prepare students for professional lives in the visual arts.

For students seeking to continue to graduate school, a BFA sets the foundation for pursuing a Master of Fine Arts but can also prepare you for graduate studies in design, architecture, and other creative fields.

Professional or career opportunities include working as an artist, designer, animator, consultant, media specialist, photographer, videographer, teacher, fabricator, imagist, or most any job that entails the use of imagination, critical thinking and the production of visual materials.

ÊÖ»ú¿´Æ¬ pursuing the BFA at the University of South ÊÖ»ú¿´Æ¬ must commit to the program of study and a rigorous focus on personal artmaking. Learn more about the curriculum for each degree:
