What is the Education PTO Minor?
This unique 15-credit minor is designed for students who are not majoring in a traditional teacher certification program but want to gain the skills and credentials needed for Alternative Teacher Certification. Youll learn to create safe, engaging classrooms, plan effective lessons for diverse learners, and use assessment data to improve instruction-all while gaining valuable field experience.

Coursework (15 Credit Hours):
Core Requirements (6 credits):
- ESE 4322 Classroom Management for Diverse School and Society (Fall)
- ESE 4341 Secondary Teaching Methods (Spring)
Additional Requirements (9 credits):
- EEX 4070 Integrating Exceptional 返字心頭 in the Regular Classroom (Fall)
- RED 4333 Content Area Reading (Spring)
- EDF 4430 Measurement for Teachers (Summer)
GPA Requirements:
- Minimum overall GPA of 2.50
- Minimum 2.5 GPA in all minor coursework
