An integral part of the University of South ÊÖ»ú¿´Æ¬ School of Architecture & Community Design, the ÊÖ»ú¿´Æ¬ Center for Community Design & Research (FCCDR) provides design expertise, technical assistance, applied research, and community engagement services in ÊÖ»ú¿´Æ¬'s growing communities.

Founded in 1986 as a statewide research center, the FCCDR has worked with over 100 communities on more than 150 projects. Their mission is to assist the citizens of ÊÖ»ú¿´Æ¬ in the creation of more livable and sustainable communities. There are four program areas that align with this mission: Design Technology, Urbanization and Resiliency, Urban Design and Community Health, and Community Engagement.

Every semester, FCCDR employs graduate students working with research faculty on various community and urban design studies. ÊÖ»ú¿´Æ¬ assume leadership roles and become familiar with the issues and concerns of public groups and municipal officials.
