7-Year B.S./M.D. Accelerated Program
Program Overview
The 7-Year B.S./M.D. Accelerated Program offers First-Time in College (FTIC) ÊÖ»ú¿´Æ¬ Judy Genshaft Honors College students the opportunity to receive admission to ÊÖ»ú¿´Æ¬ Health’s Morsani College of Medicine (MCOM) and complete a Doctor of Medicine (M.D.) in just seven years — provided that the student continues to meet all program benchmarks, including a successful interview with MCOM.
ÊÖ»ú¿´Æ¬ complete their bachelor’s degree at ÊÖ»ú¿´Æ¬ during the first three years, followed by four years at MCOM to earn the M.D. Traditionally, the path to a medical degree takes at least eight years, making this an accelerated track.
Participants spend the first three years as undergraduates at ÊÖ»ú¿´Æ¬ and in the Judy Genshaft Honors College, and years 4–7 at the MCOM. A Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree is typically conferred after the fourth year upon successful completion of undergraduate requirements. All students in this program must major in biomedical sciences (BMS).
Honors academic advisors support students in completing Honors requirements and the undergraduate portion of the program, while MCOM oversees the four-year medical school curriculum.
Eligibility Requirements
To be eligible, students must meet the following criteria:
- Admission to the Judy Genshaft Honors College as an FTIC student
 - 4.0 weighted high school GPA (as calculated by ÊÖ»ú¿´Æ¬ Undergraduate Admissions)
 - SAT score of 1500 (critical reading and math sections) or ACT score of 34 (super-scored across all attempts; finalized scores must be received by ÊÖ»ú¿´Æ¬ by June 1 of the entering year)
 - Declare a major in biomedical sciences (BMS)
 - U.S. citizenship or permanent resident status by the end of the first year at ÊÖ»ú¿´Æ¬ undergrad (international students are not eligible for admission to MCOM)
 - Complete the Honors Thesis Research Track

ÊÖ»ú¿´Æ¬ with questions should visit the 7-Year B.S./M.D. Frequently Asked Questions page on the Judy Genshaft Honors College website.
Entering the 7-Year B.S./M.D. Accelerated Program
There is no formal application for the 7-Year B.S./M.D. Program. ÊÖ»ú¿´Æ¬ must meet
initial eligibility requirements and declare biomedical sciences as their major when
               applying to ÊÖ»ú¿´Æ¬.

By June 1, Honors advisors will contact eligible students via email. At that time,
students may express interest in the program, and an advisor will help them register
               for the appropriate first-semester courses.

ÊÖ»ú¿´Æ¬ may opt out of the program at any time by contacting their campus representative.
Opting out will not negatively affect future admission to MCOM or a student’s ability
to graduate within four years. Many students who exit the program (or do not meet
benchmarks) after Year 2 are still able to adjust their schedules and graduate in
three years. Individualized advising is available to help determine the best path
               forward.
